Every third Sunday of the month in Mantova there’s the Antiques market. The market takes place in different locations depending on the season, but always adjacent one to another. FESTA DEL TORTELLINO
In May in Valeggio sul Mincio there’s the Tortellino Festival, a real gastronomic journey opened by the typical tortellino of this area for a full menu of local products including wines. A striking table of 4000 places on the Visconti bridge and a procession in medieval costumes will take you back in time.
ANTICA FIERA DEI MANGIARI
In June in Mantova, you can take part to the Ancient Fair of Mangiari. This event on the lakefront Gonzaga, lasts more than ten days and sees a roundup of local products offered in different menus. As contour of the fair, every evening there will be music concerts.
FIERA DELLE GRAZIE
In August in Mantova there’s the Fair of the Graces, a celebration linked to the feast of the Assumption. This event originated in the fifteenth century, when the pilgrims tired because of the long journey were offered to eat, during the years it became a real fair with exhibition of food products and not, without losing its predominantly religious meaning. For the occasion, the “Mandonnari” meet in Mantova, artists who paint religious images on the road.

In August in Castellaro Lagusello there’s the Festival of buskers, a festival entirely dedicated to street artists that has been held for twenty years and sees an always more passionate public. Magicians, mimes, acrobats, comedians, dancers, clowns, jugglers, storytellers, will perform to entertain adults and children. These artists come from Italy and the world, and you will discover an ancient and charming art, made of wonder and magic!
FESTIVAL DELLA LETTERATURA
In September in Mantova there’s the Literature Festival, now at its twentieth edition. The festival aims to promote the cultural aspect through workshops, debates, thematic routes that involve Italian and international authors, poets, teachers, scientists. The festival will be accompanied by concerts and shows, to create a multifaceted concept of literature. The festival takes place in various points of Mantova and among the many related events was created the circulating library, which moves in different parts of the district including small rural villages to bring the library where there are no other libraries. These popular libraries were more common in the past and the organization of the literature festival aims to renew and continue this tradition.
