The Conero Regional Park is a natural oasis located in the promontory of Conero, in Marche. Its territory is included in Ancona district and includes the towns of Ancona, Sirolo, Numana and Camerano.
The whole area is characterized by forests rich in wildlife and wonderful sights. The beaches are very nice, the beach of Passetto, Portonovo and Gulls are the most famous ones. In the area you can visit the old town center of Sirolo, a small medieval village that includes an archaeological area with a Picena Necropolis, and Camerano caves, located near the homonymous village.
Mount Conero offers many hiking trails both free or organized and provided with warnings along the route. The alternation of the vegetation, the natural landscapes and historical and archaeological interest make the itineraries particularly rich and interesting. Among the most beautiful and refined points there are the petroglyphs and the Cave of Mortarolo, the Church of St. Peter, the Roman Caves.
The path of the Two Sisters, the name given to two reefs and the beach, starts from Sirolo and offers stunning view of the coast. It’s one of the most challenging trails that won’t disappoint the mountain experts, including the passes and precipices. On the rocks of the Two Sisters, you can also practice climbing.
On the promontory of Conero you can also do mountain bike trips and paragliding flights from Portonovo and Mezzavalle, while the crystal clear waters offer the opportunity to go diving and snorkeling.
