Festa dei Furgari – Taggia
In Taggia on February 12 you can take part in the famous Festa dei Furgari.
On the occasion of the celebrations for the patron saint of the city, St. Benedetto Revelli, the aim is to remember the escape of the threat of the city from a possible Saracen invasion.
Legend has it that in 900 AD, when the Ligurian coast was besieged by Saracen pirates, St. Benedetto Revelli, dreading an invasion, advised the population to light fires and wander around the country with lit torches.
The pirates, at the sight of the fire, believing that the city had already been conquered, they changed destination and the city was thus saved.
To remember the escaped danger, great fires are lit in the city squares and you wander through the old town with the “furgari”, a kind of torch filled with black powder that is shot in the air or on the ground, emitting a powerful light.
The celebrations then continue with the tasting of typical local products in each of the sixteen districts of the city.

Aromatica – Diano Marina
In Diano Marina, every year in April the event “Aromatica” is held, dedicated to aromatic herbs such as basil, rosemary, mint, sage and thyme.
This event aims to give the right emphasis to typical products as well as to promote the territory, also proposing excellence of other cities.
The city will come alive with stands of various producers, conferences, culinary events, as well as tastings of many products thanks to the many stands of Ligurian street food.
