CAMELIA EXHIBITION
In March, the Camellia Exhibition takes place in Verbania. For fifty years the exhibition has been improving the production of the local vivariums of Lake Maggiore, and even this year we will be able to appreciate over three hundred varieties. Experts can also discover the secrets to grow these wonderful flowers and in the market they will find many products made with camellias, such as perfumes, soaps and cosmetics.
ARONA MARKETS
Throughout the year, in Arona, you can stroll through the lakeshore and poke around the markets. Every month you can find crafter’s markets with handmade items by local artisans, the farmer’s market with the best of local farm products, and the antique market with vintage, rare and unusual collections. In December, there is the Christmas market with gift items for all tastes and a fairytale atmosphere.
ENOLAGO
In May in Angera, Enolago will engage you with a tasting of local wines. Enolago was born in 2016 and brings together small producers operating in the territories nearby the Lake Maggiore. Wines are produced in accordance with traditional methods and respecting the environment.
MIDSUMMER JAZZ CONCERTS
In July, in Stresa, you can attend to Midsummer Jazz Concerts. You will listen to the notes from the best jazz bands from around the world on the suggestive lakeshore. The concerts take place within the Stresa Festival, at the 56th edition.
MUSICAL WEEKS
In September, in Stresa begins the Musical Weeks, the second part of the Stresa Festival. There are many classical music concerts in this international festival appreciated all over the world. In addition to the Stresa Festival Orchestra, you will listen to prestigious music names on stage, from Russian pianist Alexander Romanovsky to London Symphony Orchestra.
GRAPE FESTIVAL
In September in Angera, the Grape Festival takes place. The festival is very ancient and is naturally tied to the grape harvest that in the 15th century used to end with banquets and dances. A few years ago, the city decided to bring it back to life with great success of public. Today, the Grape Festival is a triumph of colors and music, with allegorical wagons that quietly invade the streets of the town. Also experienced guides will bring visitors to the vineyards to taste the fine local wines.
BELGIRANDO PER PRESEPI
From the 1st of December to 8th of January, Belgirate celebrates Christmas with Belgirando per Presepi. The town will be decorated with cribs in different places, all made by the inhabitants with different techniques and materials. Walking through the streets of Belgirate during this time will make us involve in the Christmas spirit thanks to over 50 nativity cribs arranged along a defined way. If you want to follow all the way to make sure you do not miss any stage you have to attend on December 1st at the inauguration or on December 26th with the walk tour. In addition, on December 1st , they will lit the Christmas tree in Piazza della Chiesa.
