SAGRA DELL’INSALATA GRIKA
In July in Martignano there’s the Festival of the grika salad and sausage. This event began in 1992 and offers various specialties of Salento. The protagonist dish is the grilled sausage with Griko salad that comes from the tradition of the Salentina Greece. The salad is prepared with tomatoes, peppers, arugula, olives, capers, onion, cheese and chili. In addition, there are many musical events to continue the festival until late night.

The procession reaches the Incoronata Church for the edict of the market opening.

LA NOTTE DELLA TARANTA
In August in Melpignano, the Night of the Taranta closes a long music festival in stages. The concert of Melpignano is the conclusion of a summer event dedicated to the music of various genres, rock, pop, soul, and of course traditional folk music.
